  11. Fremont, CA, February 22, 1993 -- SyQuest Technology (SYQT-NASDAQ) and DiVA
  12. today announced that SyQuest brand 5.25-inch removable hard drive cartridges
  13. will be preloaded with DiVA’s VideoShop 1.0 SE (SyQuest Edition) free of charge
  14. in a limited time offer which begins today and runs through April 30, 1993.
  15. VideoShop, with a suggested retail price of $599, is the leading
  16. QuickTime-based video editor for creating and editing digital movies on a
  17. Macintosh.  Both of SyQuest’s 44MB and 88MB capacity  cartridges, the SQ400 and
  18. SQ800, will also include Apple’s QuickTime™, VideoShop’s on-line documentation,
  19. a library of video and sound clips from The Image Bank® CD Collection and the
  20. SyQuest/SCSI Probe utility.

  22. “Now more than 800,000 SyQuest drive owners can produce QuickTime movies at
  23. their desktop without any additional hardware or software investment,” said
  24. Joel Levine, SyQuest’s vice president of marketing.  “Typically, start-up costs
  25. are high in multimedia when video cameras, digitizing boards, CD-ROM drives and
  26. video and other editing application software are included,” Levine noted.
  27. “SyQuest is committed to supporting the 5.25-inch removable cartridge standard,
  28. including developing drives with full backwards compatibility in the higher
  29. capacities often required in multimedia and digital video applications,” he
  30. added.  “This opportunity with DiVA is another way to add value for our
  31. customers,” he commented.

  42. customers who purchase the company’s cartridges during the nine week promotion.
